Hey guys,
I'm hoping some more experienced AlterAeon players might no what the hell is wrong with my game. I just started playing it again recently, and I'm in love with it.
I was playing last night, and I must have hit something weird, because all of a sudden every time I move my character in any direction, the screen reader won't describe where I am. For example, I move once north, and it gets out maybe a word about the setting, but then just jumps ahead to listing the possible directions I can go.
Even when I use the "look" command, it begins describing where I am only to immediately start listing the possible exits. Obviously this is a problem especially in unfamiliar areas.
I think I'm just going to uninstall it and download it all over again. I hope
that fixes the problem, but still I don't really feel like doing that. Is there any other way I can fix it? Also, do you know what I might have done to do this so I can be sure never to do it again?
Thanks so much,
Alexis
Alexis, you might have accidentally hit the hotkey toggle for speedwalk. On your system, that's probably the alt-s key combination; if that doesn't work, try the 'config speedwalk' command. Let me know if that doesn't work.

Thanks a ton Dentin! I actually was able to figure it out luckily; that was the problem, and I'll keep it in mind from now on.
I adore this game, btw.
Cheers!

Any of you guys use a mud client on the Mac? Any recommendations? I haven't been on in quite a while and would probably get on for a bit off and on if I could from my mac.
Leo, there's really not many options on macs. Right now, I'm only aware of two: telnet, and tintin. There's a short web page on it on the site, at: http://www.alteraeon.com/blind_mac_support.html
I hope that helps. There's just not traditionally be a lot of mudders using macs, so it doesn't have a very good client base.
Because of mac OS terminal being a POS access wise, mudding on the mac
really is not viable. I boot into windows to play this and other muds.
